Hand Clap

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE
The Other Side of the Fence is a participatory performance combining spoken word, audience engagement and live performance to examine queerness, belonging and resistance. Using dandelions as a central metaphor, the work reclaims a plant often dismissed as a weed to reflect lives that continue to exist and flourish without permission.
Throughout the performance, dandelions are placed onto the bodies of trans and non-binary participants, transforming them into symbols of resilience, visibility and collective care. Drawing on religious imagery and ideas of purity, exclusion and moral authority, the work questions who has the power to define what belongs, and who is cast outside the fence.
